Questions & Answers
Some of you have questions, we tried to answer some of the most popular ones here
How does bringing insurers back help me personally?
Right now, you might have one or two companies willing to insure your home—if you're lucky. The Reform Act brings back competition. Instead of begging for coverage, you'll be shopping for the best deal. More companies means better rates, better service, and policies designed for what YOU need.
Won't more insurance companies just mean more confusion?
No—it means more power in your hands. Right now, if your insurer raises rates or drops you, where do you go? With real competition, you can take your business elsewhere. Companies will have to compete for customers with better rates and service, not just hope you have nowhere else to turn.
Won't this help big insurance companies?
This helps YOU by bringing competition back. When insurers compete for your business, you win with better rates and service.
Who are these 'intervenors' anyway?
They're lawyers and consultants who get paid millions in taxpayer money to slow down rate approvals. They claim to represent consumers, but they're really representing their bank accounts.
Why not keep electing the Insurance Commissioner?
Because insurance regulation is too important for campaign politics. You wouldn't elect your doctor or pilot—you want qualified experts. Same here.
